         Rutgers Day provides an opportunity for the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) to open its doors—literally and figuratively—to the people of New Jersey and show them what we do here.  “And how well we do it,” says Douglas Greenberg, executive dean of SAS. “Rutgers Day is a perfect occasion for SAS, and all the schools throughout the university, to demonstrate to the residents of New Jersey our commitment to Rutgers’ mission as a public institution, as the State University of New Jersey.”

                                        Music Festival

         The 4th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival will be held this year Saturday, July 25 – Sunday, July 26, 2009. This year’s festival will celebrate the City of Newark’s favorite musical genres gospel, house and hip-hop. Food and merchandise vendors will be available in addition to a Green Vendor Marketplace aimed at educating festival goers about environmentally friendly products.

         Rutgers-Newark will conduct a study to measure the festival’s carbon footprint. Please take the survey and bring it to the festival!
